As this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Jordan IV , the Jordan Brand design team decided to go beyond their boundaries and gave us a custom edition in the form of the Air Jordan 4 Flyknit shoes , which we present today in the University Red version.
The main idea behind this project was to get rid of all traditional materials like leather, nubuck or suede and replace them with lightweight, breathable and durable Flyknit yarn. To show the essence of the Fours, each of the panels from the regular edition was presented here using a different type of weave and braiding. In this case, the whole thing was bathed in a vat of red paint. The same color as the upper is also used for the sole and details like the wings on the laces, the rear element with the Jumpman and the laces themselves.
